NOV 19 Deep ruby. Blackberries and spices, floral, nuanced, exotic and nuanced, detailed and layered, less obvious alcohol than last bottle but this has been open and stored chilled for a week. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, anise, dark fruits, blackberries and spices, nuanced and detailed, alcohol more evident on the palate, rich and long. Incredible fruit and structure in this one. 96

2017 Taylor’s Vintage Port

OCT 19 Deep ruby. Intense dark fruity, exotic spices, liquorice and layered nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, quite rich and dense, layered, superb fruit quality but alcohol shows rather sharply throughout the palate, even a bit on the nose. This disturbs an otherwise stunning Port. Depending how tolerant you are to the alcohol notes, this will be between heaven and hugely annoying. I land in the middle. 96

Alcohol is too obvious, it's almost vaporizing of truly magnificent fruit underneath, very forward, spot on, shows everything in one hand, not too complex and a bit too short. I'm a bit disappointed, from a favorite house normally. 88
