FEB 11 This is a mix of several vineyards. Pale golden, some botrytis, a bit closed, gorgeous acidity, but lack the raciness you expect, and a bit short.....  May become higher with storage. 88

FEB 11 Pale straw yellow, apples, some spicy notes, schists, elegant nose. Nice acidity, rounded body and texture, balanced and long finish, but maybe lacks a bit of nerve? 89

MAY 10 Pale straw yellow. It took a long time for it too open with the screw cap. The first two or three years in the bottle, the wine showed acidic and thin. Now things have happened, apples, redcurrants, minerals, on the verge of showing development, fresh acidity, great balance, fresh aftertaste. 87

MAY 11 (Demi) Pale golden, very elegant and refined nose, tropical and pineapples in abundance. To my surprise (the vintage) its fresh acidity and quite lively. Pure, elegant and nicely balanced, long finish. One of the few 03's from Mosel that seems to be able to age very well still. 92

AUG 11 Expectations were not that high, but the acidity and wine was fresher than anticipated, even if not as lively and characterful as the wines of this vineyard normally would be. That actually describes the whole wine quite well. Tiny touch of petroleum lurking in the shadows of overripe lemons and pears, acidity only medium for Riesling, quite elegant and well balanced, long length. 91

NOV 09 Golden yellow, raspberry, apples, great minerality, very young still. Great acidity, very balanced, even more youthful on the palate. Some tropical notes, still a bit closed. 88

NOV 11 Towards golden, mature nose of apricots, apples and minerals, some ripe lemon and a touch of petroleum. Acidity balances nicely with the sweetness, very elegant, more or less at peak if you still want some youthful freshness in it. 92

JUL 15 Served blind. Pale golden. Apples, cooked pears, some cinnamon, apricots, pure honey, some lemons, faint lilies and jasmine note. Fresh acidity, seamless but lacks a bit of fruit to balance it fully, if picky. I had it ten years ago and actually nailed it, what’s the odds of that, long. 94

1982 Dr.Loosen Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Auslese

AUG 11 Top fill, re-corked 2006 at the estate (late cellar release it seems). Golden colour, apricots, apples and minerals, very little if any petroleum. Surprisingly youthful, but lacks a bit of freshness. 82 was on the warm side as a vintage and this shows here. Acidity should have been better, it's clean, pure and elegant, but not glistening. Could be longer as well. 87

SEP 03 Søt, svakt syrlig, nesten som sure kinamenn i ettersmaken. Rund eller kanskje heller avrundet, syrlige grønne epler og en aning svært modne stikkelsbær og amerikansk godteri. Strågul, fantastisk farge, svak lukt av epler. Ettersmaken minner om modne epler men også en bitteliten tone av en lett Sauternes. Ettersmaken varer en evighet om enn mild.

APR 11 Pale golden, closed, some tropical notes, easy going. Yellow fruits, good acidity, fresh and lively, not that sweet anymore, otherwise little that show of the age, lacks some complexity, very nice, good length. 88
