NOV 13 Deep ruby. Rich nose, cassis and vanilla. Freshish acidity, ripe tannins, fruity even if slightly lean and has an unripe feel in the back, trying to hide behind the oak. Warm finish. 88

OCT 13 #8 on Wine Spectator’s top ten of 2012 list. Ruby. Cassis, blueberries, vanilla, quite sweet and ripe nose. Freshish acidity, ripe tannins, warm and fruity, oaky palate, rich, good length. 88

SEP 14 Dyprød farge. Fruktig, noe fat, solbær, kaffe og bjørnebær. Medium syre, modne tanniner, snill og sødmefull, avrundet. 86

MAY 10 Almost opaque, thin ruby rim, cabernet flavours big time, paprika, blackcurrants, touch of coffee, but not too complex. Fresh, quite mouthwatering, plums, chocolate, to be honest. The first glass was why bother....second, starting to be ok, third glass, and I actually liked it, it opened up nicely. Good tannin grip and length. 87

1996 Beringer Private Reserve
SEP 12 Ruby, garnet rim. Blackberry jam, deep and rich nose, coffee and plums, quite intense. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, sweetish touch that balances the dark fruits and makes it feel livelier. Good length. 90

DEC 09 Dark ruby, ruby rim. Raspberries, blackberries, cherries, plums, a bit jammy and warm fruit, earth, chocolate and bell pepper. Medium body, ok acidity, soft very ripe tannins, a bit one dimensional on the palate compared to nose, very well made as always, but I cannot get excited somehow. 84

NOV 09 Another of the Napa’s, that I never get very prosaic about. Great intense tobacco nose, nice acidity, ripe tannins, a bit hollow in the mid palate and aftertaste, prunes and cooked dark fruits, ok finish. 80

MAY 16 Towards golden. Apples, some minerals, touch of citrus, quite elegant nose. Fresh acidity, minerals, apples, citrus, smoky, touch of candied lemons, long. 92
