2007 Heitz Martha's Vineyard:
NOV 13 Ruby. Scented, bell peppers, cassis and quite pure feel to the nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, elegant, refined feel to it, even if a bit lean.

2005 Heitz Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
FEB 14 Deep ruby. Deep ruby, cassis, some plums, rich, slightly scented, fruity nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, rich, ripe, sweet, slightly alcoholic, long finish. 90

2004 Heitz Martha's Vineyard
NOV 09 Dark ruby, beautiful nose, cherries, some warm fruits, blackcurrants, vanilla and spices. Fantastic mouthfeel, intense and full bodied, and still it manages to be elegant. Acidity cleans perfectly and ripe tannins. Very long finish, and a great wine.

DEC 14 Deep ruby. Rich, ripe, dark fruits, exotic, spices, layered, intense nose, flirting. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, ripe, fruity, rich, some coffee notes, sexy and long. Young plants after phylloxera attack in the mid-nineties. Impressive.

2002 Heitz Martha's Vineyard
DEC 09 Deep ruby, almost opaque, thin ruby rim. Fantastic nose, somehow light and floral, but also complex and intense. Red currants as fresh as they get, black currants, herbs, fantastic pure nose, hints of sweet tobacco behind. Perfect mouthfeel, tannins need some more years, they are ripe but massive at the moment, cool fruit, a fantastic wine.
Keep for ten years or more. 93

2002 Heitz Cellar Trailside Vineyard Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
NOV 09 Dark ruby, some liquorice, lightly spicy, some pepper, blackcurrants, cigars, elegant fruit, good acidity, lots of ripe tannins, balanced and elegant with long finish, needs time. 90

2001 Heitz Cellar Napa Valley Zinfandel
JAN 11 Ruby, fruity and berry intense, some vanilla in the back and alcohol sweetness mixed with anise. Fresh acidity, very ripe tannins, some cherries, slight burn in the finish.

NOV 11 Ruby, very layered and complex nose, just starting to evolve. Very well balanced, fresh acidity, ripe tannins, enormous elegance, anise in the finish, a beauty, long length.

1999 Heitz Cellars Martha's Vineyard
NOV 09 Bright ruby, garnet rim, almost smoked meat, some blackcurrants, coffee and tea, elegant nose. Fresh and pure, elegant body, silky tannins and good acidity, maybe a bit hollow in the mid palate, but considering the age of the vines in 99, this is true craftsmanship.

OCT 12 Deep ruby, garnet rim. Licorice and coffee, another somewhat tired bottle, but can be enjoyed. Fresh acidity, tannins soon gone, rounded texture, on the verge. Both bottles suffering from poor storage. This should be much better. 88

OCT 12 Deep ruby, garnet rim. Cooked nose, figs and feels of warm storage. Lazy and dry, sweet but dies on the palate.
