SEP 14 Bright ruby, thin garnet rim. Scented, richer liquorice, intense nose, morellos, deeper and warmer, bit more alcohol up front. Fresh acidity, high of ripe tannins, fruity, lively, rich, intense, fresher palate, feel cooler, long and grippy. 92

2008 Cappellano Barolo Pie Rupestris Nebioli Otin Fiorin

SEP 13 Bright ruby. Figs, anise, leather, subdued nose. High acidity, high of ripe tannins, intense palate, tannins dries the finish a bit, long. Wait five years. 91

SEP 13 Bright ruby. Nuanced, layered and elegant nose, scented and floral. High acidity, high of ripe tannins, fruity, pure, liquorice, fruity and long, lovely. 93

FEB 13 Bright ruby. Tar and roses, scented and a bit up front. High acidity, high of ripe tannins, refreshing palate, good length. 90

FEB 13 Bright ruby. Tar and roses, some leather and licorice. High acidity, ripe tannins, quite mouthwatering and refreshing, subdued feel to it, long. 92

2006 Cappellano Barolo Pie Rupestris-Nebioli Otin Fiorin
AUG 12 Pale ruby, brick rim. Tar, roses, licorice, stunning nose. Fresh acidity, high even and high of ripe tannins. Pure and elegant for Barolo, has a classic feel to it. 92

2004 Cappellano Barolo Pie Rupestris
NOV 10 Bright ruby, elegant nose of tar and roses, later on some cherries, very elegant and classic. Needed time to open, and half an hour in decanter is minimum. High acidity and a wall of very ripe tannins. Elegant feel for a Barolo, pure and superb length. Keep at least five years. 92

NOV 09 Pale ruby with brick rim. Foliage, hints of forest floor, expensive leather, truffles, chocolate, mature morellos, mature and fantastic complexity. Elegant body, roses and tar in the mouth, mature tannins, great acidity very fresh, some medicinal, band aid, hints of strawberries, very long finish. 88

MAR 12 Garnet with orange rim. Sediments. Tar, roses, perfumed nose, anise. High acidity, hig level of tannins, leanish body, still fairly mouthwatering, not that layered, then braking up after twenty minutes. 87

1966 Cappellano Barolo

AUG 11 Totally different animal, A level fill, well up in the neck! Gorgeous bright ruby with thin orange rim, violets, tar, roses, ripe cherries, fine leather, layered and stunning nose. Fresh and high acidity, tannins gone, nice body, refreshing, very good length, opens up beautifully. 92

MAR 10 A/B level fill. Bright garnet, orange rim. Intense with warm fruits, floral and so seductive, even if a bit on the warm style, fresh acidity, mature, fantastic balance, at peak, absolutely fabulous, crazy how fresh and mouthwatering it is, fantastic long length, a marvel of a wine. 97

AUG 10 Brick, watery rim, tar, roses, anise, slightly iodine, fresh acidity, blood, ripe tannins, some cherries behind, tiring. 84

1947 Cappellano Super Barolo
AUG 10 What a great name! Brick, towards orange rim, lots of sediments. Tar, roses, cherries, elegant nose. Fresh acidity, light tannins, sour cherries, quite elegant texture for a Barolo, good length, elegant. 92

Cappellano Barolo Chinato
MAY 15 Ruby with brown hue. Spices, pharmacy, medicinal, cinnamon, whole range of aromas. Fresh acidity, bitter, intense, intensely bitter, long massively bitter finish. I can't rate it, not my cup of tea at all.
