SEP 12 Pale golden, mineral and light floral notes over just a whiff of beeswax, honey and yellow plums. Some acidity actually, and almost feels lively with the almost chalky minerality that lifts it. Long. 90

2002 Chave Hermitage
FEB 10 Deep ruby, red rim. Youthful, fresh, pepper, well hung game, some spices, blueberries, blackberries, but most of all, pepper. Fresh acidity that plays in the mouth, high ripe tannins that builds a wall around the flavour playground, great structure, very complex, I wouldn't say charming, but it really has something to it. 91

JAN 15 Golden. Rich, apricots, ripe, fruity, alcohol, some minerals, fruity. Freshish acidity, ripe, fruity, rich, minerals, flinty, apricots, apples, intense. Long. 93

SEP 13 Ruby, garnet rim. Scented, fruity, floral, elegant, refined, red and dark berries, complex and nuanced nose, gorgeous. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, elegant and verging on mouthwatering, refreshing, lively and nuanced, blueberries, red berries and slightly cinnamon spicy finish, blood, hung meat, graphite minerals, hung grouse, gorgeous wine. Beautiful texture, very long indeed. Superb now but will soldier on. 96

FEB 16 Ruby, thin brick rim. Earthy, black tea, some figs and dates nose, very mature. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, earthy, red berries, dried fruits, leaner, some tobacco, dry finish. 87

OCT 12 Ruby, garnet rim. Leather, pepper and figs. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, a bit dry but a very refined red fruit string behind. 89
