2011 Bruno Giacosa Dolcetto d'Alba
SEP 12 I'm not that into Dolcetto as the low acidity for me easily makes them a bit flabby. Luckily that isn't always the case. Ruby with fruity and perfumed nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, elegant for Dolcetto as well. Fresh and nuanced feel.

NOV 09 Bright ruby, very closed, some cherries, hints of tar and roses in the back. Nice acidity, massive tannins, the fruit does not show too much, needs at least ten years in the cellar.
90, but this will probably go higher with age.

SEP 12 Bright ruby, garnet rim. Tar and roses, anise, floral notes, complex, layered and seductive. High acidity, high of ripe tannins, outclasses everything else tasted beside it, very long indeed.
You may cellar it for ages. 95

OCT 09 Ruby med garnet kant, intens, noe lær, tobakk, roser og tjære, ren fruktighet, ung nese. Pen syre, modne tanniner, ren og elegant frukt, flott balanse og intensitet, men kunne hatt litt mer kompleksitet for å nå de store høyder. Men deilig vin! 88

MAR 12 (Served blind)Ruby with thin brick rim. Slightly of still fermenting sweet morellos. Some rose hips. High acidity, high of ripe tannins, lacks something mid-palate at this stage, but lovely finish.

1996 Bruno Giacosa Barolo Riserva
JAN 10 Ruby, garnet rim. Very young, hints of pepper, red berries, hints of green and herbal notes, slight volatility, lots of acidity, wall of very ripe tannins, absolutely not ready to drink, I would not get this wine if I had not tasted more mature ones. Keep 10 years before trying, at this stage 88, I'm sure it will be higher with age.

1990 Bruno Giacosa Barolo Falletto di Serralunga Riserva
NOV 09 Ruby with brick rim. More floral, violets and roses, almost like entering a flower market, some wet bark and dirt, hints of liquorice and cherry stones, hardwood floors and varnish. Coffee and mocha with more air. Intense mouthfeel, massive ripe tannins, great acidity, pure youth.
Needs time, wait another 20 years. 95

SEP 15 Ruby, garnet rim, sediments. Spices, anise, liquorice, tar and roses, cherries. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, cherries, anise, some coffee, juicy, ripe, elegant fruit, detailed, nuanced and long. Towards refined. 94

1989 Bruno Giacosa Barolo Villero di Castiglione
NOV 09 Ruby with brick rim, some sediments. Very elegant nose, tender at first, then very fresh and youthful, lots of roses, tar, cherries and very floral with some liquorice in the back. Lots of ripe tannins still, fantastic acidity, great fruit intensity and very complex, great balance also. Slightly dry in the aftertaste, the tannins needs even more time, very youthful still.

AUG 11 Pale ruby, brick rim, mushrooms, sour cherries, sweetish on the palate. Nice acidity, ripe tannins and good length. I have a feeling that it was either not an optimum bottle or should have been decanted to open up. It was opened a long time, the last bottle I had was better, and had been open for five hours, even if I'm not always sure opening them is enough..... 89

JUL 10 Bttl 7611 A level fill, cork soaked. Very bright ruby, towards orange rim, leaps out of the glass, with floral notes, anise, coffee, leather, some overtones of iodine. Very high acidity, heavy but ripe tannins, cherries, raspberries, transparent and layered, long finish, slightly hollow.
Bottle open for five hours. 92

1967 Bruno Giacosa, Barbaresco Asili Riserva
A level fill, pale ruby, thin orange rim. Sour cherries, leather and tobacco overtones, intense acidity, cleans perfectly, fresh, tannins still youthful, but manageable, great structure, fantastic balance, even if the acidity is as fresh as an icy waterfall, long, firm finish. 94
