FEB 14 Ruby. Some figs, leather, liquorice and prunes nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, prunes and figs, morellos and liquorice.

2004 Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino
OCT 10 Bright ruby, red berries, tones of anise and leather, complex nose. Very good balance, elegant texture, fresh acidity, ripe tannins, a bit short, needs time to open fully, keep at least 4-5 years. 90

2003 Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino
SEP 12 Deep ruby, thin brick rim. Started out sweet and sour, cherry stones and leather. Felt a bit tired and just a bit old. After decanting it, something happened after about thirty minutes. It started to pull together, feeling fresher, but it took it's time to shine. After hours of decanting, firmer nose, cherries, coffee, chocolate, fine leather and black tea. Fresh and towards high acidity, ripe tannins, body firmer as well, more focused, very long finish.

2003 Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino
AUG 11 As I'm soon to move houses, I'm trying some of my 03 stocks these days to see if they're worth moving. This one almost brick on the rim, ruby core, elegant and perfumed if evolved nose for an eight year old, nicely textured, ripe tannins and still there, acidity good enough if somewhat low for Sangiovese, holding out very well. 90

2000 Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino
DEC 16 Oxidized. Most likely from warm storage as other wines from the same cellar has similar tendencies.

1997 Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino
AUG 10 Ruby, cherries, anise, red berries, touch of vanilla, quite complex. Good body and acidity, elegant, balanced, ripe tannins, drink now while retaining some freshness. Good length. 88
