Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, anise, cassis, some spices, liquorice, blackberries, cassis, detailed, just goes on and on and on. Black tea, stunning length. Starting to show ever more of its nuances. Is this the best vintage since 1985 for this? 98

MAY 10 Ruby red, brick rim. Very floral overtones over real cabernet nose, paprika, blackcurrants, liquorice, very complex. Great acidity, ripe tannins, minerals, exceptional length. I thought this was a lesser vintage, and this feels a bit leaner than most Sassicaia's, but so elegant and a pleasure still. 90

I find them so edgy and square while young, this served blind, and my conclusion, too elegant for Tignanello. There you go. 93
