JUN 17 68CS 22C 8CF 2PV Ruby. Dark fruity, some spices, ripe, rich, intense, blackberries, some vanilla and alcohol nose. Big. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, dark berries, ripe, rich and fruity, structured, firmer, long finish. The current release. 93

2013 Almaviva
JUN 17 72CS 19C 6CF 2PV 1M Ruby. Blackberries, some spices, light scented and floral note nose, deep, intense and ripe, elegant nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, red berries and anise, spices, ripe, dark fruits, quite alcoholic but more elegant structure in the year of less Carménère. Smoother. Long. 94

JUN 17 64CS 28C 7CF 1M Ruby. Blackberries, anise, vanilla, spices, ripe, rich, fruity, big nose, deep. Some herbal notes and thyme. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, fruity, dark berries, anise and spices, ripe, rich, intense, blackberries, some spices, liquorice and coffee, long. 93

2007 Almaviva
NOV 10 Bright ruby, vanilla, blackcurrants, touch of green peppers, leather, very young and somewhat closed. Good acidity, leaner style of body, elegant tannins, needs ten years in the cellar, nice balance and long finish.

NOV 09 Dark ruby, green bell peppers, herbs, minerals, blackcurrants and dark fruits. Complex nose. Very elegant, almost like velvet, tannins are very ripe and like snow, nice acidity, very long finish, needs time.

JUN 17 73CS 24C 3CF Ruby. Blackberries, anise, vanilla, blueberries, spices, ripe and rich nose, dark fruity, peppery, lots of mint. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, ripe, fruity, structured, quite firm, chewy almost, spices and dark fruits, bit woody still, long. 94

2002 Almaviva
JUN 17 67CS 29C 4CF Ruby. Blackberries, some spices, blueberries, liquorice, coffee, quite intense nose, rich and layered nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, ripe, rich, fruity, intense, blueberries and blackberries, some spices, detailed, long. 94

2001 Almaviva
JUN 17 70CS 27C 3CF Ruby, thin garnet rim. Cooked fruit, coffee, plums, liquorice, jammy nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, jammy, plummy, spices, liquorice, big and ripe. Considered a benchmark vintage but lacks finesse. Vintage started with a big water reserve after a wet autumn, but very dry for the growing season giving small berries. Slightly oxidative bottle. 90

1998 Almaviva
JUN 17 From Imperial. Ruby, garnet rim. Anise, mint, spices, blueberries, liquorice nose, tobacco and some eucalyptus. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, ripe dark fruity, spices and anise, liquorice, some red fruity notes, long. 93

1998 Almaviva
JUN 17 72CS 26C 2CF Ruby, thin garnet rim. Mint, eucalyptus note, leather, cassis, some cigars, spices, touch of thyme and lavender nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, juicy palate, fresh, fruity, some anise and spices, elegant texture, plums and anise, long. Was not considered a fine vintage but has aged very gracefully. 94

1996 Almaviva
JUN 17 75CS 19Carmenere 6CF First vintage of Almaviva. Ruby, garnet rim. Tobacco, leather, some figs, mint, detailed nose, spices, touch of pepper, bell peppers and a light thyme note nose. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins, some plums, spices, leather, quite a bit of dry extract, firmer structure, some cherry stones. Long finish. 92
